This video is a unique fusion of both a windsurfing and a mountaineering trip into a single adventure film story. The creator of "5 elements", Austrian extreme windsurfer and outdoor filmmaker Thomas Miklautsch, joins up with old friend Nazir Sabir, a famous mountaineer in Pakistan, to share old stories.

Beginning with the journey of an old powerful steam train across the boarder area of Pakistan and Afghanistan, set back into another century, crossing an area where people seem to be living like a thousand years ago. Only a single train's passenger has his origins in the west. A windsurfer on the way into a hidden valley far back in the Pakistan Mountains.

Nazir Sabir is a well known mountaineer who climbed five 8000m high peaks in his life; Two of those together with Reinhold Messner. He succeeded on four of the five 8000m high peaks in Pakistan; just Nanga Parbat still remains a white spot on his list. He almost lost his life trying to conquer this most dangerous of all mountains, also known as "Killer Mountain".

His most famous climb is the conquering of the notorious K2 (Chogori) in 1981. Together with Eiho Othani, another close mountaineering companion, he reached the top of Chogori "the great mountain" after a long and exhausting ordeal on the way up. During that climb they survived the highest bivouac by that time.

Thomas Miklautsch gets inspired by Nazir Sabir to look for the highest lakes on Earth to set a new world record in high altitude windsurfing above 5000m. Together with two friends, wave riding champion Andy Wolff and Olympic windsurfing champion Chris Sieber they travel across the inner valleys of the Karakoram Range into Ladakh, the Himalayas and finally they are heading for the great plains of Tibet, when some unexpected problems occur.

A special highlight is their trip to South India where the three Bohemians discover a "virgin" coastline with soulful waves, exactly on a spot where one year later a tremendous tsunami will strike a whole coastline.
