If you are looking for excitement or suspense, get Billabong Odyssey. This video is about soul surfing and celebrates the spiritual side of the sport. It features five very good surfers, tells us a little about each one, what makes them surf, what they get out of it, and how it fits into their philosophy of life. Then it takes each one out for a surf session of about 20 waves. The surfing is not really radical, but it is very very good, something one could really learn a lot from. It is predominantly single fin surfing on mostly average to good California surf, shown with a background of flowing mellow music. However, as pleasant as it is, it is probably not the kind of thing you are going to want to watch over and over again. The personal stories will get old fast and you will start skipping those parts and realize that there is not really enough surfing. Someday I would like to see a video of Rob Machado, ten different surf sessions, at ten different brakes on ten different boards. Then I would give it 5 stars.
